Nits, slugs, piles, insomnia, and grammar school entrance tests....

1 minute read time.

Yes, it's been another wonderful week in our house, I can't actually be bothered going on about my woes at the moment, save to say a rubber ring would help! so I'll just tell you about John, who has got bigger fish to fry.

He had his first ever GA this week on Thursday when he had his big biopsy. He got through it wonderfully well. We were all really impressed with how he didn't feel sick at all and tucked into 2 rounds of toast before coming home for his tea. I kept thinking about how strong he is and how he'll be fine. Came down to earth a bit with a bump on Friday night though when he was awake till 3am feverish and shivery and the weight of responsibility on my shoulders felt very heavy indeed. Anyway luckily he's been fine since, and I've been out and bought myself a thermometer in case of future incidents. Nurse Me to the rescue!

Biopsy wise he has an appointment on Wednesday morning this week for the stitches out and the consultant thinks he will have his results. He came to see J as he was coming round from surgery and said he really thinks it is primary lymphoma now based on what he had seen and blood test results. John also has in his mind that the consultant said he doesn't think it has anything to do with his bad back. But until he has his MRI on Wednesday afternoon I can't see how he could possibly know that.

So that's us. John has been signed off work for the next 4 weeks, and needs to be as he is very tired. We went on a short, flat walk by the river on Sunday and he struggled. I've left him watching the tennis while I'm at work today with a small list of jobs to do. My mum thinks I'm rotten but I've got to keep him moving. One can't help but wonder if this bad back isn't getting progressively worse in relation to the amount of sport on the TV that he slumps and watches. It's all about the tough love with this nurse!!

    Love it!

We should get you a little nurses cap and a stethescope to go with your thermometer! You're right to keep him moving a little. At least if he's doing what he can manage he'll be keeping a little active. Fingers crossed for the results. xxxx
