Zometa - bone infusions

Bone infusion sounds a heck of a lot more painful that it actually is, but I have to say now, that's the only good news.

Zoledronic acid is given by IV drip, so here we go again with trying to find a vein in my hand. After four attempts, two burst veins, a cup of tea and a hand that hurts like hell, the nurse finally used my right hand and the scheduled 1 hour visit saw 3 hours wander by.

Side effects from this are meant to be minimal, but obviously I am the lucky 1 in 100 who suffer from aching bones, shivers, a high temperature and general flu like crap, and this was despite taking paracetamol since yesterday morning whether I needed it or not. Thankfully these are only every 6 months.

So here I am, curled up in a blanket in front of the fire, but to be fair, I do have a glass of wine in hand, so I can't be that bad!
