They say that those who exercise before and through chemo manage much better. In the last 10 months, since last summer, I have managed to lose almost 20kg in weight and, thanks to my walking buddy (a colleague in work) I am walking about 10km a day. It's been important to me to try and continue this level of exercise through treatment and, though some days it's slower and I'm out of puff, I have averaged 8km a day since treatment started. This week (Day 14) I stomped 3km in less than 30 mins!
I've also committed to myself to work as normally as I can. I'm a busy person, in fact I am a complete nightmare if I am not busy, so keeping a work routine will undoubtedly help me through this. My team are fab, protective, supportive and simply brilliant and so far I have only had one day when I wasn't up to working in this first cycle.
I'm the first to admit I enjoy a glass of wine on a Friday evening but it's tasted really weird these last two weeks, Finally, on Sunday evening (Day 13) wine began to taste like wine again!!
