It's a very strange feeling to wake up anticipating that you're going to be ill. I mean, ok, when you have a night out on the tiles you might think about the potential hangover, but this is quite different. In both my prior chemo cycles, Day 4 has been rough. I've woken feeling nauseous, been sick, no energy, no appetite with stomach cramps throughout the day. This was my clear expectation for today, and honestly, I was dreading it.
Cycle 3; Day 4, I wake around 8am and feel......well, normal! One cup of tea later.....still normal! I try some toast.....still normal! More tea..... then lunch, coffee and so it goes on. Ok, so my energy levels aren't great, I'm not running any marathons today, but this is so significantly better than last time.
I guess this is the magic of getting the right anti sickness meds, taking them proactively and probably a lot of luck. I am feeling very fortunate today at least.
