I have developed a seroma, which for the uneducated out there (like me last week) is a fluid build up around the wound, so basically a large swelling, which is tender and uncomfortable and explains why I am only able to sleep on my back right now. Apparently a seroma isn't unusual and should resolve itself in a few weeks……hmm!
The problem is, to plan radiotherapy, I need a CT scan to measure precisely where they will nuke me. And with the unpredictable seroma, they are worried it will change shape and we'll be nuking the wrong place, which clearly wouldn't be ideal!
So, a wasted trip to the hospital and a rescheduled scan in 2 weeks time. Meanwhile here's hoping the seroma settles down.
