It's the hectic week before Christmas and everyone is cramming in last minute meetings at work. I just got home from 4 weeks working overseas, so my evenings are spent writing cards, packing presents, baking Christmas cake and soaking fruit for the Christmas pudding. Oh and the central heating is on the blink, but that's a different story!
In between the madness, it's time for my half yearly Zometa. It's all neatly planned in around conference calls, the nurse arrives on time on Monday, takes my bloods and Wednesday morning is clear for the infusion. Tuesday, 4pm, message to say I'm first on the plan, nurse will be here 8am tomorrow. Tuesday, 4.20pm, call from nurse; “they've lost half your bloods, we don't have the full blood count result!”
Seriously, how can they mislay 1 of the 2 vials of blood! So, here we go again. New bloods, new plan for Zometa on Friday, more rearranging of conference calls and fingers crossed no dodgy side effects as were off to London for the weekend.
Oh, but at least I did get the cholesterol result, down to 6.1 (was 6.6 in June) so very pleased that the change in diet is impacting!!
