2 years since the start of the pandemic and, maybe more by luck than judgement sometimes, I managed to avoid Covid, until yesterday. I waken with a slight sore throat. It's only a cold. I've no other symptoms. I test negative. Life is normal. A colleague I was at a retirement event with on Thursday tests positive last night. My sore throat is a bit worse this morning. I have a slight headache. I test again……positive.
Seriously world, come on, give me a break! I've only got one Phesgo injection left to go and I'm meant to be on holiday in France next weekend.
Anyway, I have to sing the praises of our wonderful NHS. I call 111, get a callback, explain I am CEV and now I'm waiting for the hospital's Covid Medicine Delivery Unit to call me about anti viral treatment. And if I hadn't know to call 111 and ask, as I registered my test result, I've had texts and emails today from the NHS telling me my medical records show I might be eligible for treatment and what to do! I’ve even had a message about a treatment trial!
