Radiotherapy finished almost 11 weeks ago and my boob is still lumpy, swollen and tender. Occasionally there's a tingling sensation, not painful but certainly some discomfort from time to time. Depending on who you ask, apparently this can go on for weeks, months, years or forever! Am hoping it's weeks!
On the plus side, Letrozole appears to be giving me no side effects and I haven't done any more finger nail damage, though I guess I’ve just jinxed that! My hair is growing back, a desperately ugly grey colour, but it is sufficiently long enough to go out without being obviously labelled a chemo patient, though the wig remains my style of choice for now!
On reflection, I have still not had the post cancer emotion that people speak of, though as I still have 5 Phesgo injections to go, maybe I am still feeling “under treatment” so perhaps that's to come. Or perhaps not. To be honest, I don't consider myself to have cancer any more (despite the ongoing treatment and the ongoing swelling and niggles) and in my head it is very much behind me now.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
