There's not much more powerful than sharing stories and at a recent event of c30 colleagues, they did just that. A colleague and I hosted an event to discuss cancer at work, leading with him talking about the challenges of losing one of his team to colon cancer and me telling my breast cancer story. Our message, to know your body, be aware of changes and don't be afraid to check things out.
It was humbling, encouraging and truly emotional to hear many of our audience speak of their own stories, mostly of dealing with cancer with family members and talk to one another with empathy, support and advice.
I feel truly privileged to be in a position to enable such discussions at work and hope that many organisations encourage such candid sharing.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
