Having just finished 6 cycles of chemo, I can truly say I have been amazed, humbled and eternally grateful for the support from a number of people.
Let me start with those who diligently remember each 3rd Thursday by sending the most thoughtful gifts, from cosmetics to fluffy sock, sweets to candles, magazine subscriptions to activity packs, and not forgetting celebratory wine and champagne this week. The ability to keep track of my schedule and plan has really been incredible.
Then the gift boxes, which ranged from food, cheese and hampers that hubby and I could both enjoy, to thoughtful home packed chemo care boxes of activities, books, creams, scarves and much more. My friends, family and colleagues have done their research and chosen gifts with a lot of care and thought.
Amd the flowers, I think 14 bunches in total, at one point they were sitting in anything from vases to milk bottles. Again, such thoughtfulness to cheer me up.
Finally and most importantly to me, the constant stream of cheery messages, cards, what's app chats, phone calls and contact. So many people from around the world, friends, family and colleagues, constantly checking in on me, and on us as a family. This gives me energy, helps me keep positive and gets me through without doubt!
This cancer is shit, really would not wish it on anyone, but the huge level of support I have had and continue to receive, makes a tremendous difference and makes me better able to cope.
Thank you all xxx
