Remember the 56mm lump that started all this? Well, after 2 cycles of chemo, my MRI shows that said lump is now reduced to 11mm! Yes....you read that right, a whopping great reduction of 45mm!!!! Apparently I have had a fantastic response to treatment.
This is so good in fact that this morning I had to have a clip inserted. Basically a small marker, the size of a grain of rice, now sits in the small lump in my boob, so that when chemo kills the rest of it and the lump disappears, the surgeon knows where it was to cut it out.
So why do I still need surgery if it's all disappeared? This is my question of the day, but it seems there is no change to my treatment plan, despite the good news!
Well, I'll take the positive news for now, and the fact that my weird taste side effect has currently gone and I can enjoy a glass or two of wine (or maybe an Aussie port) is an added bonus
