I've realised these last few weeks that this recent period of sunnier weather makes quite a difference to my mental attitude. The persistent rain in May made the days and weeks stretch and chemo seemed like it was lasting forever. That made me grumpy and fed up! Suddenly here I am, with session 5 this coming week and in just over 4 weeks' time I will be through this first phase!
I've also decided to be sensible about being immunosuppressed, but I am not shielding. We actually went out to eat twice this week and it was good to feel “normal” although it's still not really normal when everyone is wearing a mask, tables are 2m apart and you can't go up to the bar for a drink! How funny that this is now normal, how quickly we adapt.
So, bloods tomorrow, oncologist appointment on Wednesday, chemo on Thursday and the cycle starts again for the penultimate time!
