Update on my "THING"

1 minute read time.

Apparently the THING could not have come from the Mac Site as it is not listed anywhere. What I mean by this is it has not been defined in any of the literature. Sydney RPA are at a bit of a loss to categorize it.

So far all the regular blood tests to check for abdominal cancers have returned negative results.

The rather painful Liver biopsy had to be done whilst holding my breath. I think every hospital employee should have a liver biopsy done they really are a good way to get your kicks. Anyway it feels as though a mule has taken a two footed thump into my midrift. Because I had to hold my breath they could not give sedation, they needed a coperative patien not one who was merry on morphine or pentathol.

Early examination of the biopsy material is promising, nothing obviously nasty has been found, however it will be a week before full results are available.

The MRI scan has indicated that the THING is not growing out of any of the major organs or structures,. I am told this is good news as it means its more than likely to be benign. .

I am cautiously optomistic and aware that the dream of everything being easily sorted can quickly be shattered.

I may be allowed home tomorrow, with follow up surgery scheduled for the second week in February

Glad that the 'thing' appears not to be the thing so feared!

Like Mo, I will have all crossed that surgery goes ok and that all will be fine.

    Lots of love,

Oh I certainly don't envy you on that one, but I'm keeping everything crossed that the results are positive. It certainly looks that way and I hope that will bring you less worry.

Wishing you all the very best.
