oesophogeal cancer treatments

Less than one minute read time.

Some months ago i read a blog from Vickie re her husband Andy who i believe has the same cancer as my husband. She referred to a COG trial run by Prof Ferry and other possible treatmments. i would love to hear from her. Can anyone advise me what treatment can be given when swallowing starts to become difficult again and all roads of chemo and radiotherapy have been tried. Many thanks

Hi , My dad had this in 2009 . He could not eat at one point only liquids and that began to be difficult too . He had chemo and within 5 days he was eating lots more . My dad had the operation and it all went well . He still struggles with food now , but manages perfectly well on a soft food diet . Has he had an operation too yet ? Or a stent fitted ? My dad just gets by day by day really but he went through a lot with the operation . I know I've not been very helpful but I hope you find your friend on here . Sharon x
