Where am I?

Less than one minute read time.
Eating hasn't been great. Feeling like shit. Ate a banana yesterday and was sick for over an hour as it wouldn't go down and I'm depressed about that. Had some minced shepherds pie later which wasn't too bad and then had a few drinks to try to relax. Think things are playing on my mind as I had to go for an MRI scan on Tuesday as it has got worse since I finished the only 6 rounds of chemo that I can have back in October. Now waiting to find out what is going on. It has got me to thinking about things, but with cancer you never stop thinking!!! Who on earth came up with the phrase 'living with cancer'? Did they ever try it??. Let's get real and let's start sharing our stories - the good and the not so good as that way we can give some hope to each other and share some of the funny stories too (bubbling flatulence during chemo anyone?).

Hello Anthony .... I am sorry that you have found yourself here through your cancer, it is indeed a hell of a journey. Although mine was a different type of cancer ( well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma on the floor of my mouth ) I can understand all too well the problems face when trying to eat .... my diet has to be an easy-to-eat, soft textured one due to the repercussions of surgery / radiotherapy.

No, you are never able to stop thinking about cancer as one way or another it's always there in front of you but I guess we have to just get on with it the best we can. Why don't you join the Oesophagus ( Gullet ) Cancer group here on the site ? There you will find others who are going through it too and if you post then I'm sure someone will reply .... pop over and have a look. You may even find those funny stories, too ! Take care and best wishes.

Hi Anthony, my husband has oesophageal cancer; currently on cycle 4 of chemo. The Oesophageal cancer forum is indeed a great source of support, and you will find many to chat with, and to share experiences x
