I was just like this on Wednesday night. Didn't manage to get to sleep until after 3am and hubby's alarm went off at 4,30am, so got a total of 1,5 hours sleep. I just couldn't switch off. Good news is, I did last night!

Wishing you lots and lots of peaceful slumber tonight.

Identify and symathise with everyone in the insomnia club. So lonely being awake when It feels like everyone else is in dreamland. Then all the knock on effects from not getting enough sleep.Know that sleep trainers say wait until you feel really tired and go then. I find piriton helps (obviosly not the non drowsy one) and is not habit forming. My gp has been happy to prescribe zopiclone as he knows I will only take for cuple days at a time when desparate and it is comforting to know that they are ther, sleeping tabs are habit forming though so need to be careful. If its anxiety and those hamster in a wheel thoughts then I find you need to cut into the cycle. Wishing restful nights to all, Karen xox

Hi normally - well, me and insomnia are old buddies. A good night's sleep is a bit like the Holy Grail for me. Not too bad if I've had a 'quiet' sort of day, but if I've been out somewhere, or a lot's happened, Jeez, I'm like an over-stimulated child. I find it really hard to 'switch off'. Understand totally!
