My daughter had her 6 month "watch and wait" appointment this morning. She was diagnosed just over a year ago. First appointment was 4 months, then they let her go 6 months so she was back this morning. Her bloods haven't changed - good sign - but she has lost a further 11 lbs from last time and her spleen is slightly more enlarged. She has to go back in another 4 months for a CT scan of her spleen and they may treat it with radiotherapy. Her consultant is pleased that her bloods are staying steady as chemo would make her very sick and she has 3 small children. He would be happier to treat the spleen as radiotherapy isn't such an ordeal. She is happy to avoid the chemo for the time being and she will battle on. She is very resilient and her children are her focus. I am so proud of her.Good wishes to everyone, whether they have had good news or bad. No one knows how strong they can be until being strong is the only choice. This forum gives friendship and hope, that is the best feel good factor for everyone.Keep fighting!!Trish.
