Should I be back at work?

Less than one minute read time.

I finisished my five weeks of radiotherapy two weeks ago - and am still waiting the results of the CT scan for a shadow on my lung - BUT this morning I had a phone call from work.  NO PRESSURE -  BUT WHEN DO I THINK I WILL BE BACK AT WORK?

I am all confused - I have been signed off by the doctor - but feel I am not really ill.  I am not really well either - but am not sure how well I am at present to do my job.

I have an Oncology appointment just before Christmas - but up to now every time I have seen an Oncologist - it has been a different doctor, and are often very difficult to understand.

Has anyone else had problems regarding going back to work?

As others have said listen to what your body is telling you. Its not just physically being able to work it is also being emotionally able, which others can't see. I bet you feel guilty enough not working, because I know I do, without feeling pressured by your employers to return. Only you can decide when it is right to go back to work but do it on your terms not on what they want you to do. I should listen to all the advice given here, because I feel so guilty about not working that I have asked if there is any work I can do at home while I have chemo, which starts this friday.

Good luck in making the right decision.

    Love and hugs Amanda xx

    hiya hun

    just seen ur blog

most companies have to keep in touch with their employees and have to ask "when do you think you will be back" its just routine questions hun - dont take it personal .......... maybe the answer is ..... when i am fit and well enough !

i think HR have forms to fill in ....you know boxes to tick!

think of it this way you are keeping someone in a job!

    ;)

dont rush back - do whatever is best for YOU!
