Going backwards?

1 minute read time.

Hello, this is my first blog. I was diagnosed with oesophageal (gullet) cancer in September 2009. After 2 sessions of chemo in December 2009 and January 2010 I had the Ivor Lewis procedure on 17 February 2010. i had to be in a coma due to comlications but all went well and  was discharged on 17 March and after convalescence all semed to be going well. Eating fine, small regular amounts, walking, swimming etc. No pain

However I have had a setback and would appreciate advice/comments.

Started getting pain in shoulders and thighs a few weeks ago, prescribed painkillers co codamol and  then nauseous and skipped meals because of it. Lost weight rapidly. Stoppped pain killers ( obviously) Spoke to consultant and gp and was prescribed anti nausea pills and told to take morphine type pain killers by the consultant ( I resisted).

Had holiday booked in Spain so my wife and I went with all the passenger assistence we could get. Managed to eat small meals prepared by wife and took anti nausea pills. Still pain in shoulders and thighs( used ibruprofen rub).

Started to vomit spontaneously ( note: not after meals) with bile and other darker substances. Stopped the anti nausea pills.

Feeling very weak so returning home to UK early  to further consult with medics.

Any advice appreciated

I am sorry to hear of your setback. Hopefully it is something easily dealt with.

No-one can really advise you it is your doctors who will help you and get you back on your feet again.

I am sending you lots of good vibes of positivity to help you through the coming weeks. I hope your Drs can get to the bottom of it all soon.

Best wishes and lots of hugs and love Julie X
