mORE INJECTIONS

Less than one minute read time.
On Thurs Alan went to the clinic at the hosp saw the doc,oh dear his blood count is down again. He has already had 3 days of injections since his last chemo so now its 2 more days fingers crossed his blood count is ok on Monday morn. Doc has said he must now have 5 days of injections after chemo now. He is too have a ct scan when his chemo finishes examined him and said he could feel no lumps. So that was good. He is or has been on ABVD but is now to stop the B as this may be causing his breathlesness so now its AVD going for a breathing test next Fri. so they can compare it to his last one .Go back and see him 25th july. So watch this space. Nanaboo

  • Hi

you may remember I posted recently about the injections as they have been mentioned, though I have to say I am still confused but will chat further with the consultant on Tuesday. However what I wanted to share was our last discussion, when chemo was cancelled, he said that I could have an injection the day after chemo and that should do, the nurse also reinforced this where as before it was similar to Alan, injections before the chemo.

So it may just be worth asking are there options re the injections, you never know.

Good luck and hope Alan gets sorted and its good news from the ct scan.

    hi nanaboo

i always read your blogs because my mum also has hodgkins

she too feels really tired and finds daily tasks really tiring and gets so frustrated! she has had five treatments and has had one lung function test which showed an improvement which we were told was really good.her affected glands are in her chest. how is alan doing? how many breathing tests has he had and how often? my mums blood has not been so bad so far fingers crossed, i always just make sure she eats even when she doesnt feel like it to keep her energy up , so she has something in her belly. also, i think it is a good idea to get her to eat something fatty, we were told by the doctors that chocolate / choc muffins and high calorie food is great because it gets their energy up if they dont feel like a meal and theyre still getting calories, but it isnt bad for them because like it is us they arent eating too much anyway at the moment. maybe this will help keep alans energy up? my mum seems to get breathless too a lot, i think its a mixture of tiredness and low blood count mostly, where are alans affected glands?

and also has alan lost all his hair,?? my mums has thinned a great deal but she still has a wee thin covering!

    write back

    lots of love
