    Sal is becoming Sal again!

The great news is that her blood count of sample taken night before last are neutrophils 3 and white 5. These are normal figures so she is back to fighting strength... well, on the way, and she has an immune system again!

The cannula failed in her R hand but her bloods were so good that they removed the cannula and she has now been switched to oral Amoxicillin. So not more IV. She still has…

This morning Sal is feeling good. She slept well and the nausea is under control. She might even face a slice of dry toast for breakfast!

Here temperature is down too. During the night she hit a 36.something for the first time in a week. This mornings was 37.2 so again, normalish. However, we need to be cautious here. The paracetamol she is taking is good at lowering temperature but the underlying infection could still…

    The upshot of…

This is the side of her op and so shouldn't really be used for needles but Sal just couldn't face another try on the left so they decided it was worth the risk. This all went fine. So she has a working cannula again but it cannot be used for saline but as she can now keep water down the saline isn't needed.…

Now her cannula has failed and Sal cannot face them trying to get another in. She is in SO much pain when they try and it is REALLY wearing her down.

After a lot of shouting (well, virtual shouting, I didn't actually raise my voice!) they have agreed to install a Hickman on Tuesday. In the meantime she needs the meds and so they are going to put a cannula into her right arm... the side of the ANC. The oncologist said…
