Thank you for all your good wishes and thoughts

1 minute read time.

I haven't been able to reply to everyone individually who has commented on my blog posts and has sent good wishes.

I have found, and I am still finding, writing this blog to be a real help to me. It may sound strange but just writing about what we are going through... what Sally is going through... is so helpful to me, but for some reason it is. I find that in having to think about our experiences I also have to try to put them into some kind of perspective and this seems to help me handle what is happening a bit better. Also, it is good knowing that others in a similar situation might read the blog and might perhaps gain some small comfort from knowing that their experience might not be so unusual. Hopefully it might make their expierence a little less scary... at least at that moment... in the same way that reading of others experiences has help us.

I love reading about other experiences on this site... and I hate it! There are stories of great news, great courage, great suffering and great loss. It can be very confusing to spend a couple of hours taking in others posts but in doing so it is always a pleasure to log out knowing that we are all one big community sharing in what life has thrown at us. Some are coping better than others but I hope that whatever your experiences, our experiences, we can help each other through these difficult times.

So, thanks from both of us for reading and commenting, even if I don't actually get to reply to you all.

    Dear Paul and Sally,

Many thanks for your blog and I understand you are not able to blog as much as you would want.  I sincerely hope Sally is taking each day and doing her best - she will get there, especially with you.  My treatment started in 2007 and, here I am, enjoying the sunshine, walking the dog, nagging my husband, picking up after my daughter (20!) - so back to normal then.  God bless, keep well, good luck. Hi Paul

Glad to hear that things are settling down a bit for Sally - wishing you all the best for the next session.

Like you, I turned to the site for help, both practical and emotional. I found it in bucketloads! That's why I've decided to stay, even though my own personal involvement with cancer has sadly ended, in the hope that I may be able to help others. Because talking to people in the same or similar situations can be so much easier than talking to friends and family. Keep posting - you never know who might be out there! Val X
