SITTING IN THE SURFERS BAR
WITH COFFEE AND SOME CAKE
MY MUM USED TO LOVE IT
THERE WERNT NO BETTER PLACE
LOOKING OUT TO THE SEA
AND WATCHING THE WORLD GO BY
THAT LOVELY WARM FEELING
AND NOT A CLOUD IN THE SKY
ANOTHER BOTTLE OF BUD
DAVE WOULD ALWAYS SAY
DONT KNOW WHY HE ASKED
I ALWAYS PUT THEM AWAY
WATCHING IN THE BACKGROUND
THE LOVELY LYNNE AND KRIS
WHO WE LOOK UPON AS FAMILY
AND WE ALWAYS HUG AND KISS
ALL THE GANG AT SURFERS
LOOKING AFTER OUR NEEDS
SUCH FANTASTIC PEOPLE
OH HOW THEY AIM TO PLEASE
A CUT ABOVE THE REST
IM SURE YOU WILL ALL AGREE
SERVICE SECOND TO NONE
AND THE ALE IS ALMOST FREE
THE FOOD IS DELIGHTFUL
AND THE BAR STAFF REALLY FUN.
A LAUGH SMILE AND A JOKE
AND ANOTHER DAY IS DONE.
NOT TO FORGET OUR DAVE
STANDING DOWN THE STEPS
SMILING AT THE CUSTOMERS
AND TRYING TO GET THEM WRECKED
NO OTHER PLACE THAT ID RATHER BE
THAN AMONGST OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY
IN FANTASTIC TENERIFE
just a poem i wrote about a bar we have all gone to in tenerife for 10 years and the fantastic people who run it,just come back and it brought back many happy and also sad memories of my mum.xxxxx
