The flexible sigmoidoscopy

Less than one minute read time.

Friday 6th November 2009 will be a day I will never forget.

I had a flexible sigmoidoscopy at Pinehill Hospital in Hitchin. They found an 'abnormality" near the bottom of the colon, just above the rectum.

Hopefully is early stage and has not spread.

Going back to see the consultant on Saturday morning to get more information and to get  CAT scan and MRI scan arranged. I will also need a full Colonoscopy to see if there are any more 'abnormaties' or polyps

I too had a flexible sigmoidoscopy  on the 29th oct at the mineral hospital in Bath. the camera wasn't able to go far as there is a narrowing the pain this caused was horrendous! I have the results of the bi ops they took and i have cancer cells. I go for a CT tomorrow to find out what treatment is needed i.e Chemo or operation or both! It's all very worring so have complete sympathy with you. Hope all goes well for you Linda x
