At 5am this morning I caught my mum going into the bathroom. She did make it in but I had to help her out. It seems she accepted the commode but only for a wee! So when it came time to get up and go to work I just found I couldn't leave her.
I will make the best of the day by letting her do everything for herself as she would have to when I'm at work. I will also ring Christine and ask her to pay mum a visit. I will investigate the red button alarms that dial a number for help if pressed and can be worn around the neck. I am also going to look into care packages and see if maybe we can get someone to just come in around lunch time. I'll see how she copes today.
I'm watching her every move and she knows it. She keeps assuring me she'll be fine and is trying her best to walk around with confidence but not really succeeding! She didn't know I hadn't gone to work this morning and an encouraging thing was that she brought her mobile phone downstairs when she came down.
Right, I'm off to start my phonecalls. Hopefully, I will be able to go back to work tomorrow and be confident that mum will be ok.
