Mum has been taking her dexamethasone steroids since she saw the GP on Tuesday and is feeling so much better. She's eating properly again and enjoying her food. She has only had to take the new anti sickness meds twice since she started back on the steroids and her mood is so much better too. She is now really looking forward to her holiday again which is great! 2 weeks tomorrow, Spain here we come!
I have asked Dr Mehta, her oncologist, if mum can keep taking the steroids until we return from our holiday and he is fine with that. I was worried that if she stopped them after two weeks her holiday would be spoiled, so we're all set. Her gums have been a wee bit sore again these past couple of days but she has used the gelclair today as she says, even if it tastes rotten, she knows it will work and nothing is going to spoil her week away. We should have been off to Florida for 3 weeks and I'm disappointed we're unable to do that but I need to be grateful that we're going away at all as, when she was diagnosed, I didn't think we'd ever have another holiday together.
She has done soooo well, I'm soooo proud of her and I intend to make this holiday soooo special.
