Tues 17th May..nothing

1 minute read time.

hey

its tuesday and still nothing from Christies regarding any treatment, am feeling really tired and down at the moment and even though my diagnosis doesnt sound as bad as a lot of people on here I feel alone and more numb, My partner has suddenly started doing the silent treatment and even though I try and talk nothing gets said back, my friends and colleagues at work have been brilliant, though I have shown to be more tired this last couple of days especially, and they are genuinely concerned, but nothing at home, am plodding on at work but when I try and say something at home its quiet and then the cans come out and cant talk then.

not sure if I need to go to the docs to get some anti depressant tablets or something, but dont want to be seen as a nutcase or have to go and see a  psychiatrist.. have to ring the consultants secretary tomorrow as still not heard from christies and advised from the consultant we need to push for this appointment. will do this in the morning and also the endocrinologist on thursday, hope he can sort something out for me....sorry for the rant will keep you updated

    hey

you are not a nutcase and if you feel you need to see your GP for some help GO.  Unfortunately, cancer affects everyone in the family especially our nearest and we all deal with it as best we can.  Most men feel they have to fix things when they go wrong but they can't fix this one  - so they do what most men do and go back to their cave with their beer.  Don't feel too disappointed in him, he's doing his best and is probably very scared at the prospect of losing  you - he'll come round.  Oh, and you are not ranting, you are talking to us and getting things off your chest which is totally normal.  You are right to chase up your consultant, unfortunately, while we go through such turmoil we also have to become efficient managers of our treatment and appointments.  Good luck for Thursday and please let us know how you get on.  Love Ann x

Of course you're not a nutcase. Speak to your GP or consultant about a physcologist referal- speaking things over with someone outside the situation can be really helpful.  Chase up that consultant and don't take no for an answer.lx
