Sweet Inspiration

1 minute read time.

I think I’m going to be blogging regularly until I get my scan results so I’ve come up with what is hopefully a good idea.  Instead of boring everyone with daily gloom and anxieties I am instead going to dip into my large collection of inspirational thoughts and share that with my blog readers.  That might help me stay cheerful and positive and perhaps it will help someone out there.

I always listen to music while I’m writing so I thought it might be fun to include what I’m playing and tell you why I chose it.  (I can visualize my regular readers running for the hills at the thought of The Bay City Rollers so I solemnly promise there will be no further mention of them).

So today I’m listening to Johnny Johnson & The Bandwagon singing “Sweet Inspiration”.  It’s a reminder of my first meditation teacher who was a huge inspiration in my life.  This was one of his favourite songs and is a happy reminder of a special summer spent together many years ago which was filled with love, laughter and music.

He used to tell me to imagine that life is a party.  There may be times when you are disappointed with the type of music that is being played.  You have two choices.  Either you sit down and wait for the music to change.  Or you stay up on your feet and make the most of it.  Perhaps the time will come when you are worried that you might have to leave the party early.  Again you have two alternatives.  You can fetch your coat and sit anxiously waiting by the door.  Or you can keep dancing and having a good time until the very last possible moment.   None of us ever know when we might have to leave the party but we will all have to leave it eventually.  So make sure you enjoy every possible moment you can.

Well that has considerably cheered me up so I will probably be back tomorrow.  See you all then.
