Third one in...

Less than one minute read time.

Hi all, had my third treatment last week, and so far not a tremendous amount different.  Though having said that, my self-ratings for fatigue have definitely slipped a ranking...  I am still going to work, but just feel maybe slightly rougher round the edges if you see what I mean?  Chemically taste - tick, got that back a bit.  Slight weariness which may just be to do with being fed up with the chemo process!  Got Groshong scheduled for 24th - but aargh they want me for a pre-assessment on the same day as I go up to Sheffield for a Young Persons cancer forum.  I've been on the phone a couple of times about that.  Seems bizarre to cancel a weekend I'm looking forward to just so they can haul me in to give bloods etc for a local anaesthetic procedure, but hey ho.

Looking into complementary therapies too - a local charity can offer free reiki and hynotherapy - any expert opinions out there on what these are like?  They also offer a heavily subsidised 'Mindfulness' course - all about breathing, visualisation etc.  Sounds fun!

Thats a real shame you couldnt go on the forum.  I went to one in Cambridge in 2008 and loved it, was really worth while.  I have kept in touch with the majority of the other women there and we still offer each other support mostly via email.  They have met up a couple of times too but I wasnt able to go due to various reasons.  If you can get on another one that would be fab.  I say a huge thumbs up to the courses...I am qualified in reflexology and know the benefits of these holistic therapies first hand.  Its a way for you to take back some control and help you cope with everything thats happening to you.

Good luck with it all love Chrissi xx

I have had reiki and thought it was wonderful, very relaxing.  I know a lot of people who have had it and gave good responses about it, so it's definitely worth a go.  Never had hypnotherapy, but would certainly love to try it.

As for the Mindfulness course, this sounds very similar to a course I did at the Homeopathic hospital. I was referred for the course by my homeopath who I see for M.E. It was very interesting. I hope you give everything a try and get a lot of benefit from it.  You've got nothing to lose really.

    Best wishes, Christine xx

Good news!  I got onto the hospital and had a nag and they are letting me come in on the Thursday for my pre-op thingy.  I pleaded away as I said I was really looking forward to the weekend, and they took pity/agreed to shut me up (most likely!).

Thanks for the replies - I am not sure about the reiki as I am worried about it conflicting with what the chemo is trying to do, but I am coming round to the hypno way of thinking.  Got a Look Good Feel Better one next week which sounds great too!
