As it began, and the moral to the story ...

1 minute read time.
The moral to this story is if something doesn’t feel right ... Please, get it checked! When it comes to health and seeing GPs I am a typical man, it is only ever a flesh wound, so you just carry on!
Well here is my last 36 days!
May Bank Holiday – 29th April noticed a little blood in my urine, it was still there the following morning so called 111, they arranged for a call back from my GP 2nd May Appointment made, sample sent for test for infection (Day 1). In the meantime, the blood had stopped! The GP confirmed that my Bowel Cancer screening results were negative (MY NHS present for turning 58!
Text – 9th May (Day Out driving, and a text appeared on my SatNav from the GP, it wasn’t an infection, so the next stage is Cancer Exclusion!
Cystoscopy – 23rd May (Day 22) Ultrasound completed, then Cystoscopy, I was told it would take 5 to 10 minutes, after a sigh the Dr pointed out the tumour, and the camera was taken out in under 3 minutes. “I have seen what I need to, that has to be operated on!”
TURBT – 6th June (Day 36) Under an epidural, 2 Tumours found and removed and a dose of Mitomycin C (MMC) which is a one-off chemotherapy dose.
What the future holds who knows, I have a 3 week wait to discover the outcome! Right now I feel good, although a little tired … but positive!
Heartfelt thanks go out to my GP, Dr Ford at Park View Surgery, all the amazing Doctors and Nurses at Leicester General Hospital, and Paul for being on call for transport!
To my friends … Stay Safe, Stay Healthy!
