End to Remission

Less than one minute read time.
Sorry to bore you all but there is nowhere to get my disappointment off my chest. Having had a kidney reomoved 2 years ago I thought I would be ok for quite a while. After 42 years of marriage it has been such a bombshell. Does anybody know how long one waits to see an oncologist? My wife will have to say goodbye to her home and garden as she will not be able to afford to stay on with reduced pensions. This has all added to the disappointment. On a positive note there might be a further line of defence . I am sure there are many worse off than me but I had to get it off my chest Vern

Hi Vern, I'm a bit confused by your post, has your cancer returned?

Sorry you're feeling so bad, but this is a good place to get things off your chest.  You are in my thoughts and hope things get better for you.  Best wishes, Christine xx

Best wishes mate and fingers crossed for you.

  • Check with your GP you are being refered under the 2 week ruling where by you must be sen by a specialist whether that be a surgen or oncolgist depending on your primary need.

Also are not still under an oncolgist having had treatment 2ys ago ?

you don't share your new problem so difficult for people to advise further.

    good luck

Hi Christine. Thanks for you good wishes. The cancer was removed with my kidney but a small nodule left after the operation has started growing again and in addition there is now cancer in my lymph gland. (Which I do not know). I got this news on the 3rd July and was told that I would be referred to an oncologist.

    Best wishes to you

    Hi John

I was told on 3rd July that the cancer was active again after 2 years remission having had my kidnewy with the earlier cancer removed.  Does this mean I should be seen by the oncologist by 17th July.?

Thanks for your interest and I hope you yourself are progressing.

        Best regards

    Vern
