Spending time in St Giles

Less than one minute read time.

Today mum has been taken onto St Giles hospice. It was so emotional leaving her there as she was very tearful. The staff were fantastic and the place itself was 5*, we had the conversation we wanted but dreaded, about what should happen in the event of her needing resuscitation and thankfully mum decided that she does not want them trying to bring her back if the situation arises. They are trying to make sure she gets her meds right and that we have other support in place for when she eventually goes home xx

Thinking of you Ginge.  I'm glad that the hospice was 5* though, I have heard such good things about hospices, and would feel, that if the time arose my mum needed to go in for a while, that she would be in safe hands.  Hope they get your mum's meds sorted soon and she is back home with you all.

    Take care

  • When my time comes, I want to be in a hospice. Your mum is in the best place.

My sister received wonderful care in a hospice but she wanted to come home and they made it possible for her to spend her final days with us and all possible support in place.

             Hope this happens for you,

                     Love and hugs,
