Well got my results yesterday

Less than one minute read time.
Went to the Churchill hospital Oxford yesterday, armed with a valium (I was so worried about results) Anyway after yet another Xray that was taken in the new (only opened on Monday) huge cancer unit costing millions of £'s saw the professor who told me I have, non small cell lung cancer that has slightly spread to my liver and lung lining, the Xray showed that the fluid I had in the plira removed had not returned, which he said was good news. He said they will not be able to get rid of the cancer altogether but are hoping to shrink it enormously and remove it from the liver with Radio therapy and Chemo. So not the worst news I was dreading but a sign of hope and also the hospital is always having new trials coming up. I could not believe what I saw when walking through this new development, a designer wig shop!! didn't dare go and have a look at the prices lol

    hi moggyjo

Welcome to What Now the club we need ,but not dont want to be in.

I also have NSCLC & was diagnosed in June 07. Shock horror. Well to cut along story short I had full removal of the infected lung in Oct.07. Things were great till I bwas feeling poorly in Oct 08 when i was rediagnosed with advanced lung cancer on my remaining 'good' lung. Since then I have been seen by an oncologist who has decided that it would be inoperable this time ...................but for the tumors to grow in size so that I can have chemo to shrink them. He explained that it needs to wait as It would  do no good whatso ever to administer chemo at this time as it could damage any remaining good cells in the lung.So that is my story.

May I wish you well & good luck for your future & your impending treatment.

    Love Lyn x
