Metastatic Prostate Cancer

I'm sorry i can't answer your question, but have you posted this question on the prostate cancer group where it will be picked up by all the people here with that cancer so you are more likely to get answers there.

Words can't express how gutted you both must be; my dad has prostate cancer with bone mets, it's dreadfully upsetting.  You will find support here from a wonderful crowd even though it's a place none of us want to be in really.

I think there is a 'care pathway' to treating advanced prostate cancer. My husband had RT and went throught the chemical castration route,  then when his PSA continued to rise they stopped the Casodex started steroids and when that didn't produce a response he had Docetaxel Chemo.  Sadly the chemo didn't halt the progression of the disease and he was given Arbiraterone for a couple of months but this didn't help him or the other man we knew in similar circumstances either reduce the PSA or control the bone mets pain. This in no way means that it will not do great things for your husband.

Frankly if it's considered that chemo would help, then sooner rather than later at this stage.
