Wow!  The new one is so neat!  Where it joins up with your old scar you seem to have some "flaring" (I think that's what it's called) of the scar tissue, I have that too.  Your pelvic clearance seems to go at a different angle to mine, mine comes up my leg, dog legs through the groin and then goes straight up the side of my hip bone.  How many drains did you have?  I had 2, but they both exited through my thigh.

That all looks good - you must have excellent healing going on there - your original scar, I know four years on,looks really good, - not obvious at all.  Mine is on my inner thigh and still looks deep 3 years on, - due to the amount of fat on my thigh.  Was yours a split skin or normal graft?

That was some operation for the pelvic clearance - but very neat.

You have been through so much for such a young person, - keep strong

P.S - you have three kids and a nice flat tum - I only had two and my youngest is 37!!, - I am still waiting for the tum to flatten, - ....should have done the exercises. hum

You certainly heal well Ruth & they did a lovely neat job. My pelvic clearance was done in the same direction as Marsha's - our surgeons must have gone to the Northern School of Needlework!

At least Lynn has an excuse for having a not so flat tum - I have no kids (only step children) & have no excuse for my permanent round protuberance!

my old scar was much worse than this, I'm so glad they replaced it! It healed quite thick and wide, and was a bit keloid. I'm hoping this won't do that. Marsha, I had 2 drains for my groin disection and last years pelvic clearance. They were in my pelvis/abdomen though. Strange how they all do it different?!  This time I was lucky to have none! When I came round in the recovery room I felt my tum expecting tubes :o) when I realised there wasn't any I panicked in my morphine haze, thought they'd forgotten them and was scared my tummy would burst open!! Lol. But they assured me I didn't need any and I was so pleased :o) although I've never had them in more than a few days so was lucky with that too.

As for the tummy thing, I've always been small, If you could see my Mum you'd understand! She's tiny!
