Hot flashes

Less than one minute read time.
Does anyone have experience of a forced menopause through chemo (I am on FEC)? I have been suffering with frequent hot flashes and night sweats and wonder how long and intensive this might be. Any tips for reducing symptoms would be appreciated. Maureen with the redhot face!

Hi,  i went straight into menopause but not as a result of chemo, as a result of hysterectomy, you could try herbal remedy Black Cohosh - but check with your doctor first before taking anything.  failing that as much soya in your diet as possible.

    hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions Denise. Think the oncologist might not approve of 'alternative' medicine for this but I will ask. Not been too bad today it always seems heightened just after each cycle of chemo. Love your pic by the way. Is the little one yours? Boy or girl? You look so happy.Read you recent blog too. Guess you are in limbo now and getting ready mentally for another dose of chemo.Best of luck to you do let us know how you get on. Lots of love Maureen x

Hi, I had a total hyst in September due to endometriosis so I cant take HRT.  I started taking Menopace 7 days after the op and havent had any hot flushes or night sweats.

Its a dietary supplement which you can buy in Boots, Sainsbury's etc (£5.40 for a months supply) and its recommended by BUPA.

            Hope that helps?  Muffatt x
