Many of the longer serving members of the community will remember Opticalboy and his very graphic blog about melanoma, and the problems that he had healing after surgery.
It brings me great sorrow to have to tell you that Peter died suddenly this morning, after discovering that his melanoma has metastasised shortly before Christmas.
Peter was a genuinely lovely guy, with a wicked sense of humour that I was often the brunt of. He made many friends during his time on Macmillan and was a valued member of our melanoma community.
I will treasure my memories of him.
