Prostate cancer

Less than one minute read time.
Has anyone out there had a radical prostatectomy? I'm recovering after having mine in September. Just wondered how other guys recoveries have gone.

    Hi Terence,

I'm progressing well, back to work on Monday after 5 months off.

I'm nearly sorted on the incontinence front, and my consultant is very pleased with my progress and recovery. How long did it take you to get back to 100%?

    Hi

I have recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer.  I have had a MRI scan of the surrounding area and now before the urologist can advise what treatment I will need I am to have a bone scan.  Providing this is negative my GP has told me that the most likely option they would be suggesting is surgery with removal of the prostate (my Gleason score is 8).  I would be very grateful to know if anyone has been in a similar situation or had surgery and how you feel today.

I had my prostate removed in March after a year of monitoring during which my psa rose from 6 to 12 it is now 4 weeks since the op and the waterworks are performing reasonably with just a slight leak occassionaly (I just wear a pad inside my underwear)

I have just stopped the painkillers and am putting up with the discomfort I have been walking every day and pottering in the garden but no lifting.

I am a bit short of information on what I can do and would like to know how quickly I can expect to be back to normal I have put a few pounds on whilst recouperating and would like to lose them.

The wife is looking forward to help with the grasscutting.

    kindest regards

    gordon
