pemextrexed and cisplatin

I haven't had either of the two drugs you will be taking - but all of us react differently to chemo and side effects will also vary.  To put things in perspective - if you read the potential side effects for paracetamol or aspirin, you wouldn't dare take it

them!  The doctors have to tell us everything that might happen - but that doesn't mean that it will.  Even on the same drug, people will have different reactions - some people might feel nauseous, others might have neuropathy, and others may be completely OK and work through it all.  What I'm trying to say, is don't make yourself ill worrying it about it beforehand.  You can't know how you will react until you start taking the drugs!  With luck you'll feel fine - but even if you do get side effects, I'm sure you will feel that they're worth it, just to zap any remaining cancer cells.

I dont know abput the other drug but i can tell you about the cisplatin.

The day you have it and the day after are ok,its the next three days that become a graft really. you feel like you have just gotten off a fairground ride and you had too much to drink whilst on it! just sick,bloated and a little dizzy all the time,i got a little bit of tinnitus too,the docs should have told you about that.... i had my drip on the tuesday and the saturday was usually the worst day for me,after that you start to feel human again by tuesday you are grand and just counting the days until the next one is up.... making the most of your time. i found that the weekend before you go in for the drip,make it a good weekend because the good memories get you through the bad days....
