LAST CHEMO

Less than one minute read time.

Yippee, finished my last chemo this week, only had six but seems like it lasted forever and then went in quick, if that makes sense.  Have to go for a scan in three weeks then take it from there!!!  Dont know how I feel, its strange not to be planning your life in three week cycles.  Not sure what to feel, dont want to be too optimistic dont want to be doom and gloom, that cancer is a strange one, you just dont know how it is going to change you.  Is there anyone else who has just finished chemo, how do you feel, as said I just dont know what I feel.

Well done for getting through the chemo!

i havent had chemo as my treatment will be internal radiotherapy but one thing i do recognise is the mixture of emotions- think that applies to all cancer sufferers- dare we feel too well, too positive??

A close friend of mine did go through chemo and she has advised me that all you can do is take it step by step, day by day. Deal with what you do know and try not to think about things that may not happen. She was very focused and you have to let yourself be proud of what you have achieved and enjoy the highs when they come.

Well done again and best wishes for the future

    xx

Hi Marion, well done on finishing your chemo.

I haven't recently finished treatment, mine was years ago, but I can relate to how you are feeling. I think we suddenly feel cast adrift. It can be a bit scary, but like you say, it's not all about doom and gloom either. Your feelings are perfectly natural, I can assure you. As time goes on you will begin to feel 'normal' again lol.

    .

    Good luck with the scan.

    Best wishes, Christine xx

    Hi Marion,

It is a relief when chemo is over but it is a mix of emotions because there is a level of uncertainty about the future. However, you have done so well and deserve to be positive looking forward. You will feel more relaxed as time goes on and I hope there is a lot for you to enjoy in the future. Best of luck with the scan,

                         Take care,

                                Love lizzie xx
