New to all this!

Diagnosed in March'April. Operated on in May - radical hysterectomy. Had clear cell carcinoma so have now been offered chemo. Can't stand the idea of hair falling out so have to get decent wig. VERY costly though - the ones you can sleep and swim in are several £k. Yikes! Funny how the the mind concentrates on trivia like this when chemo will make me quite ill. Totally illogical.

    Hi Mariek,

I hope you are feeling ok after your hysterectomy. The thought of chemo is rather frightening, losing your hair and feeling sick.....but take it all one day at a time and you will be ok. I had long hair and hated the thought of being bald, but once I was bald I didn't find it all that bad. I quite liked the scarves and hats, no more shaving legs etc!!

I really hope the chemo will not be too bad for you. There are some good tips on this site for coping with the different aspects of chemo, so be sure to look it up, or just ask us. There are some good drugs out there too to help with any nausea etc you might have.  I managed to get through it all ok, and I'm sure you will too, just take each day as it comes

Take care and make sure you get plenty of rest...love Carolyn

p.s. please let us know how you get on with your treatment  :)
