mum-in- law and the remote control

Less than one minute read time.
My nice, 85-year old mum-in law rang up whilst I was trying to chat tonight. She was a bit upset because there was such a strange programme on TV - just a screenful of writing though there should have been a different programme on. Did we have the same? No, we didn't. She was sitting on the remote control and had turned teletext on. There's hope for me yet.

    Hi Pusspins

My mother is exactly the same she phones to say her tv is not working we go through the same ritual every time have you got it on, have you got the digi box on, have you checked the aerial ( her cats keep knocking it out) eventually I go up and it takes about 10 seconds to switch it back on for her. Sometime I think she is just looking for company, but what else can you do Mums eh! much as we love them.

    Lov Teri

  • Hi Pusspins,

My late mother-in-law 'phoned to ask why everything that people were saying was printed on the screen! Trying to fix the problem of the 'subtitles' over the 'phone proved useless so involved an hour-and-half round trip to press one button. Bless!
