Mon 14th Jan - Virgin Update!

1 minute read time.

SO why have I decided to run at least 6 full and 10 half marathons in 7 months?  Well my logic is that between 2006 and 2013 I ran this many runs.  So why not in 7 months, attempt to do the same number of runs again?  Obvious right?!!?

I'm not a great runner.  I don't have a problem doing half marathons.  However once I get to 20 miles I suffer a lot of pain and discomfort but push myself mentally to finish what I started. The pain I feel after these runs is temporary and easily treated.  It's much preferable to the pain that cancer sufferers have to endure and this is what continues to drive me to want to raise money for these causes.

Macmillans is a great cause and I am proud to be doing all these runs for them.  I will wear the green running vest with pride with my name proudly printed on it.

Ah, the name - Usingh Bolt!  Not my real name obviously.  A bit of a play on the famous Usain Bolt name and also a play on the fact that I am a Singh i.e. a proud Sikh!  You can find me on twitter (@Usingh_Bolt) and on Facebook.

I'll be back again soon, to update on the training, which I started in July last year.  Although this challenge hadn't taken shape then and was more for the GNR and B'ham half marathons in Sept and Oct 2013.  Since then I've just carried on running.

Go for it! My biggest regret is that I never pushed myself when I could run.... Always making excuses for not achieving my running goals... Now so naffed off that doing the stairs are hard work, and I was running 5k three times a week this time last year, so do what you can while you can and take pride in your achievements.
