John's bath seat was delivered today and it's absolutely blooming marvellous. Tried it out tonight and he had a lovely relaxing soak. Did him a power of good.
We have a shower and a bath in our tiny bathroom but neither of us has had a bath for over three years! I've always been too scared, because there are no handles, that I won't be able to haul my chubby self out of the water. John has often suggested that I try but I've always said that, unless he puts the Fire Brigade on standby, I won't chance it. And now I can!!!!!!!!
Things are a little better today although last night was a bit touch and go. He fell asleep on the toilet because of the meds. I was all on my own and had a devil of a job to wake him, get him on his feet and steer him into the bedroom. But I managed it. Phew!!!!!!!!
My brother and his wife came to visit today and took me out to lunch while Jo sat with her dad. It was great to have a bit of a break and a chat, and relax over some chilli and a glass of rose wine.
My granddaughter Kim is staying tonight. She's a little ray of sunshine and John always brightens up when she's around.
Hope you enjoy the more cheerful blog today. I certainly enjoyed writing it.
Love to you all, Madge x x x x x
