Couldn't wait to share our wonderful news with all my friends!
John and I have just come back from the hospital and the doctor was beaming all over her face! She told us she had some wonderful news and we can hardly believe what it was.
The scan results show that there is NO EVIDENCE of the tumour! At the start of his treatment this tumour was apparently a 4cm mass but IT'S DISAPPEARED! There is also no evidence of cancer in the other organs.
She thinks it's because he has had a very good reaction to the chemo treatment but they don't know yet whether it was the chemo or the trial drug that has done the trick. Whatever it is THANK YOU GOD!
I said immediately that it was a miracle but Dr Eccles, being a doctor, didn't agree. She said it didn't happen very often that chemo treatment gave such good results but that it was the drugs. I STILL think it's a miracle!
This doesn't mean that all the cancer cells have gone because they are unable to tell that from CT scans. It does mean however that the original prognosis of only months, is possibly extended to 5-10 years although they can't be specific.
They will continue with the treatment for another four sessions but he's only halfway through and already it is showing such wonderful results.
I hope this gives hope to other patients with cancer because this is proof that MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!
