Where does life go from here?

1 minute read time.
Hi hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and will have a great new year... On December 22 I went to the drs for a mass around my heart that the drs had found.. Thinking it was something wrong with my heart I was in total shock when the informed me that they are 95% sure its thymoma cancer and that the mass stretches from the base of my throat to underneath my right lung so its of quite extensive size.. I had a bunch of bunch of bloodwork done on tuesday and go see a thoracic surgeon on Jan 2 for consultation. The dr says either way I have to have surgery to remove it and probably chemo and possibly radiation. I have always said if I ever get cancer i didnt want to be opened up in fear of it spreading and now they are telling me I have no choice. I have a wonderful husband who I just married on December 6 and between us we have 6 kids 5 of which live in the home with us... However sometimes it just doesnt feel as though anyone here understands how I feel and whats going on with my body, I know I have constant pain and everything nearly that i eat makes me sick to my stomach. I dont know if the decisions these drs have made is the right decision or not but I have more then one opinion so I guess its just me being terrified... Anyone with any suggestions I am open for them... Its a really high percentage with no biopsy but they say its narrowed down to just a few things it can be and all of them is cancer but thymoma is the one I show all the signs and symptoms of...

I have only just seen this page and I wondered how you were doing?  I had the operation last year to have my thymus removed and then it was disovered to be malignant and then I had 20 doses of radiotherapy.  My problem is my voice - when I went into have the op I had no voice and it came back the day after the surgery.  It went again on the 8th March last and I am still voiceless.  I hope you are feeling a bit better and look forward to hearing from you.  I would recommend surgery if you haven't already had it.

    Kind regards,

    Susan
