O.o, O.K, so I was some kind of idiot, but I just thought its Christmas and at last something positive has happened this year. Its been over a year of 2 lots of chemo, radiation, hospital admittance for pneumonia and kidney failure and the last few months lots of side effects for more chemo treatment.
But if there is one thing I miss its the country side..see my blog on Oare marshes etc. I can walk a good few hundred yards and then resting using NHS Oxygen cylinders which are a boon and for which I am grateful, However I was told about portable oxygen concentrators, battery powered packs the size of a "Man Bag" good for 4 or 5 hours use on a charge etc. Soon found out they cost approaching £3000 which is too much for me. So what about second hand? had a look around the web, found a site POC Direct in Belfast. Spoke to a very pleasant man who sent me a unit on a try it first basis. Unfortunately it failed within a few minutes of being switched on. Nice man says so very sorry send it straight back I will send you another, just pay for it first by internet Transfer. Ding Ding Ding..alarm bells, internet transfer..but he had been so reasonable, sent the first unit COD and accepted it back no hassle etc, so surely you have to trust someone in this world and it is Christmas. Nice man takes my £620 and poof..disappears, no telephone..no Emails. Pass it all on to Belfast Trading Standards who investigate and say nice man is a scammer, just a hire desk in an open plan office, no phones, contacts or staff in major arrears with rent and has left messages all round saying he has gone to china for six months with his girlfriend (China spelt Dublin I suspect).
So when I am in a bit of pain, struggle for breath, coping with the rubbish we all have to deal with I ask, can it get any worse? Answer Yes.
Conclusion..perhaps its time for me to pass on..who needs all this for a life.
