Hi I'm new here but my Mum has been told she as cancer ...secondary cancer of the bone

Less than one minute read time.
4 weeks ago my Mum woke up in the middle of the night in a lot of pain and later we discovered that she had broken 3 ribs. She has several tumours on her spine and had radiotherapy on one the was potential going to press on her spinal cord. Since then she has had every test under the sun to find the primary the last is re bowel which hopefully is this week. Its a lot to take in in just 4 weeks I am very grateful for the speed at which she has been taken through the hospital process but it as if we are running before we can walk. Also I feel anger that we never got to deal with the primary before it spread......... its not fair

    Hi Lucy

Welcome to the site, so sorry to hear about your Mum.  Your head must be all over the place.  You are right things are so unfair, my sister had had two primary cancers, and now has secondaries in her liver, and like you I feel so angry that the second primary cancer was not diagnosed, it is so frustrating and  we just have to try and do the best we can to help both practically and emotionally for those we love.

I wish your mum all the best for the future and hope everything  goes okay for your family.  I find the chatroom a great source of comfort when  I am having a bad day, yoiu will make lots of new friends here.

    Thinking of your family
