A happy story

1 minute read time.

Hi,

I'm Steve, I have found myself as part of this comunity due to meeting a truly wonderful woman.

Some of you may already know Debbie, known on this site as Debbiex2.

This is really a continuation of Debbie's profile.....Debbie and I met on line in December 2009. We met for lunch just before new year and found there was an unbelievable connection. When I asked Debbie if I could see her again, she answered "First I must tell you my secret and this may put you off". She then told me the story which is her profile. The explanation was finished with "and I still only have one as my recon went wrong so I am waiting for yet another operation to put it all right.Maybe this is will put you off of me".

To think that she thought this might put me off was unbelievable. She was the most amazing woman I had ever met. A week later she had a bone scan. The nurse had terrified her by saying something had shown up on the scan but she was not allowed to discuss it. When I heard this my heart hit the floor. It was then that I realised just how much I had fallen in love with her.

Within a week I had proposed to her and been accepted. That all seems such a long time ago. We were married in June 09 and have just had our 1st anniversary of the date we first met. In October Debbie finally got her final recon operation (and a fab job they have done too!)  I have 2 children, 19 & 22 who adore her and she them.

Why have I come on here? because I find myself trawling the internet finding answers to all her cancer related questions and also she has not been able to access her own profile. But hopefully that will not be for much longer.

It is thanks to cancer backup that she has had so much support and made some fantastic friends. All of whome helped build her confidence and encouraged her to get out and live life to the full.

Best wishes to everyone going through the cancer trauma, weather sufferer or carer .

Hi Steve, i met Debbie in early 2008 at

a get together when this site was called

Whatnow. She was so down to earth and

i like to think we connected. When we got

talking about the loss of her first husband

she was still grieving and never in a

million years did she ever think she would

find happiness with another partner, i

told Debbie that one day this would happen, but wished i had not said any

thing as she was upset. I just wanted to

say that i am so very very happy for her,

you are a lucky man Steve but you know

    that already.Debbie is  very thoughtful

and  kind , and she has a great sense of

humour. I think of her often and i know

you will both have a very happy life together. I send you both my best and

fondest wishes for the happy years ahead.

    Love Lucylee. xxxx
