This was a busy month , Mum had progressed to a week in a care home whilst things were set up at her home so that she could get the best of help there. We was busy getting things ready to go to Mauritius as we were going on 12th April. Mum cam home and after a few days everything seemed alright but the caring was taking its toll on my step-father who is nearly 80. So mum had a week in the hospice so that he could have a bit of a break. When she cam back from the hospice she seemed to be giving up or realising that time was coming to an end. This was noted that she became dehyrated in the last week of March and stated to be sick again like at the start. We had her moved to 24 hour care at a nursing home and she seemed to be at peace. She was by this time not eating anything but just taking fluids. However at this stage she was being given ORAPHINE (oral morphine) so it was not always a good conversation that we could have with her. Following this dramatic decline in her health my weekly visits stopped and I took some holiday to go and see her daily thus clocking up over 100 miles. March looked so promising at the start and finished with the start of the end.
